Chicago Area Hospitals

Deaf Access works with a number of other hospitals which provide access in sign language.  This list also includes hospitals recommended for their sign language access by other Deaf consumers.  This list does not list hospitals by other aspects or the quality of their care.  This list is for inpatient services and limited outpatient services.  It generally does not refer to outpatient visits to doctors associated with these hospitals, except where noted.
 

Deaf Access does not assume any responsibility for the sign language accessibility of any of these hospitals or the medical care.  Accessible hospitals noted:

University of Chicago - uses interpreters both for inpatient services, as well as outpatient doctors' visits and testing.

University of Illinois at Chicago - uses interpreters and some video interpreting for inpatient services, as well as outpatient doctors' visits and testing.

Illinois Masonic - generally uses video interpreting.

Christ Hospital - generally uses video interpreting.

Mount Sinai Hospital - uses both interpreters and video interpreting  for inpatient services, as well as outpatient doctors' visits and testing.
