Deaf Health Websites
This is a list of some of the websites of organizations providing various kinds of general health information accessible for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.  Most of the information is about general health, rather than deafness.

(Last edited March 21, 2012) - New! "Emergency Preparedness: Together We Prepare", a series of captioned videos in sign language at the home page of the State of Illinois Deaf & Hard of Hearing Commission.  It is on the left side of the home page, under "Emergency Preparedness Tips". - A website providing videos in sign language on many health topics. Also has a listing of many health providers across the country who are accessible. - The National Association of the Deaf administers the Captioned Media Program for free videos and DVD's with captioning, funded by the U.S. Department of Education.  This includes captioned videos on many health topics.  A number of videos may also be viewed as streaming video online. - A website offering a number of brief on-line videos in sign language on various health topics. - A website from Chicago offering several signed videos on health topics such as anxiety and HIV/AIDS, and an interactive section on heart health. - The National Center for Deaf Health Research, Rochester, New York. Performs research on health in the Deaf community and on accessibility to health services. One of the most complete listings of on-line accessible health videos - hit the "Links" button on the top right of their website. They may provide some on-line videos on select health issues. - Centers for Disease Control of the federal government. Some on-line videos on selected health topics. - The cancer center at the University of California at San Diego has sponsored several accessible videos about cancer. - Deaf Wellness Center of the University of Rochester Medical Center.  The center particularly specializes in mental health services and provides consultation for forensic issues involving the Deaf outside of New York state as well.  Offers for sale a signed video "My Body, My Responsibility:  A Health Education Video for Deaf Women." - website for the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center of Gallaudet University.  Lists many accessible services throughout the nation.
